Blogmas #5 | Top 5 Christmas Films

December 5th 2016 – 20 Days to go!

My Top 5 Christmas Films are:

  1. The Holiday
  1. The Polar Express
  1. The Grinch
  1. Elf
  1. Love Actually

The Holiday

This film came out in 2006 and is a love story about 2 single women, one living in England and the other in America. They decided to swap houses at Christmas time in the hopes of taking a break from their own lives and enjoying Christmas alone. However both women happen to meet someone on their holiday and their holiday romances begin. It is such a lovely, heart warming story and always makes me feel so positive after every time I watch it. A definite recommend from me and with a cast of Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law & Jack Black where can you go wrong?!

The Polar Express

This film portrays the message of Christmas perfectly. A young boy starts the film by not believing in Father Christmas as so his adventure to the North Pole begins. Along the way he learns so much about friendship and the true meaning of Christmas. Who doesn’t love a classic Tom Hanks movie?

The Grinch

An absolute brilliant film. Jim Carey is always incredible and I love his portrayal of Dr Seuss’s Grinch. The Grinch takes it upon himself to destroy Christmas for all residents of Whoville however a little girl who goes by the name of Cindy-Lou Who shows the Grinch what Christmas is really about.

I don’t need to say much about Elf except if you haven’t seen it then you need to go and watch it right now! The funniest Christmas film I have ever seen.

Love Actually

My all-time favourite. Everything about this film is incredible and the all star cast is just perfect. This films shows 10 different stories leading up to Christmas which we soon begin to learn are all interlinked in one way or another and it truly expresses the concept of love at Christmas time. I will without a doubt watch this film every single Christmas at least once.

They are my top 5 Christmas films, let me know your top 5!
